Paul Peter Robinson
Full-back (1996-2003)
A conspicuously robust and wholehearted approach to his work as a local-boy left-back made him a popular figure at Vicarage Road before his transfer to West Bromwich Albion, where he straightaway took part in winning promotion to the Premier League – a success which he repeated with the same club five years later. As a pupil at St Michael’s Catholic High School, Garston, Paul Robinson captained the school team which reached the drawn final of the English Schools FA u-16 competition in 1994/95, and went on to get his professional career under way with a Football League début against Luton Town while still a trainee.
