Paul Leslie Franklin
Defender (1981-1986)
A six-foot defender who spent some time with Birmingham City when very young, before committing himself to Watford by signing schoolboy forms at the age of 15. Paul Franklin was ever-present in the club’s FA Youth Cup-winning run of 1981/82 and his first-team experience included the club’s remarkable UEFA Cup victory in Bulgaria. After his playing days had ended he served as assistant to Martin O’Neill at three different clubs in 1995.
