Glenn Murray
Striker (2020)
An ungainly but hugely prolific and experienced centre forward, Glenn Murray was signed on loan in the 2021 close season to add experience to the forward line and the dressing room in the expectation that either or both of Troy Deeney or Andre Gray would move on. When neither happened Murray's role became peripheral, and he joined the likes of Mick Quinn and Kerry Dixon in the list of prolific centre forwards whose time at Vicarage Road was the sole barren patch on their record. This statistic was extended when Murray, who like James Garner aborted his loan to move to Nottingham Forest and work under former boss Chris Hughton mid-season, scored twice on his first start for his new club.
